Design Your Life, Make The Change.

Would your decision on the time to go to bed be a major impact to your life? Imagine this scenario; you decided to go to bed late on one night to catch up on your favourite TV series. You go to bed at three in the morning with a smile on your tired face remembering the funniest line in the series. Everything looks to be in order doesn’t it?

What about when you wake up in the morning? You sleep through all your alarm and woke up slightly later than normal. You casually take your time to get ready and left the house 30 minutes late but with ample time to reach the University. But wait! Because you left the house at that time, there are already more cars on the road than your usual early hours. To add on, an accident just happened on the very same road which you could have missed if you left the house earlier.

Then a whole series of unfortunate events happened; you arrive late to class to find that a pop quiz started, your mood then turns sour because you couldn’t answer any questions. Unfocused, you then missed the tips that was given by your lecturer for the final exams (those were really good tips), you flunked the final exam, you get into an argument with your parents who then refuses to pay for your tuition fees causing you to drop out because you do not have a steady income and the whole world comes crashing down just because you watched your favourite TV series and slept late that one night.

BUT! Let’s cut the dramatics. Life may be made of dominoes, but who is to say that you can’t break the chain and change the route. Your life is your very own set of dominoes that you can place step by step. True that some parts may just continuously fall and create a chain reaction but it is up to you to just follow through with what you have set in the first place, or decide that you want a better path in the middle of that.

Every little event without a doubt leads to another bigger event. Do not underestimate any small decision you make in your daily life because it could affect how your whole life may turn out. Depending on what you do, it could also create an effect on the people around you. Instead of frowning or giving a ‘poker face’ to classmates or staff whom you do not know, a simple change to smile at them may then create a great difference.

Take the opportunity to be the lead. You have the ability to be the architect of your life. If buildings can be designed to ways we want to, why not our life? Flying would be something impossible or even be called as sorcery in the past. But the Wright Brothers decided to change that. They invented and built the world’s first successful aeroplane which now brings the whole world together and closer to the clouds. If they can do it with the minimal amount of education and technology, what’s stopping you to carry out your own wondrous ideas?

Design your life, make the change. Because no one said that life is one long road to follow.

I'll Be There - Original Lyrics

When the sky is grey
And you’re feeling down
Just turn the corner
And I will be there

Put your head up high
Turn that frown up side down
Cause I’ll be there for you

So no matter what the worries
That troubles your heart
Talk to me

For shoulders to cry on
Or arms to fall into
Just call out my name

Like an angel
Up in the sky
Shining down on you

There to catch you
Whenever you fall
I’ll be your Northern star

Wherever you go
And whatever you do
Don’t be afraid
Cause I will be there

Just remember my name
When you’re in the dark
And I’ll be there for you

So no matter what confusions
And sadness that comes by
Talk to me

For shoulders to cry on
Or arms to fall into
Just call out my name

Like an angel
Up in the sky
Shining down on you

There to catch you
Whenever you fall
I’ll be your Northern star

Which road? I took the river.

When you come to a point where you have to choose which path to go to, how much time would it take you to choose? How much consideration?

Do you take the one where successful people you know have taken? That may only be the first path they took and what comes after you do not know.

Maybe the one people say you should take? "Such a shame," they said. "For this road may suit you well." But would it really?

I ditched both the roads, and just decided to go into the river. Lets just go with the flow shall we?

At one point, I took a moment before I stepped into that river. Wondering what if. What if those roads may make a better me. A better opportunity may lie there, a better outcome.

But then again, why bother about the "what if's".

Look not back at the roads that you did not take. Don't regret something you've already chose to forgo. Instead, be glad of where you are and where you are headed as many more roads will come before you over and over again.

Waste not the moments where you can be just happy.

Smile.

And say, "This is me."

Which glasses do you prefer?

People usually say "Looking through rose colored glasses". I say I'm looking through sunglasses..

Fun House

The lights are on; dimmer than normal, flickering on and off. The smell in the air was sticky sweet from candies, salty from peanuts and metallic from something else. There was no one running about gleefully, no rubbing of shoulders, only the wind blowing, caressing your bare skin.

“Come play” says a voice. Then all but the lights of the fun house went off.

“Don’t be shy, come play with me” said the same voice. And the familiar music began to play from inside the house. You walk one step, two steps closer to the fun house.

“That’s right, come closer. We’ll have a whole lot of fun together” it said again with a hint of laughter that sounded almost sinister.

The third step brought you instantly to the door like everything moved around you. Looking up, you see a face of a clown with a big red nose. He awaits you, watching from a broken window.

“It’s time to play” he says. And there at the window a bloody smile is the last thing you see.
